I said
"I know where we could meet
It's a great place for falls with broken bones
I'll be at the merry-go-round
We could hold hands then spin you around
I could smile at you & you could hang on tight"
Jump on fast to drop to my knees
Have the playground spin behind you
Nothing like I have ever seen
 
Looking back sight on the pebbles
there's the path our chase made
Zig-Zag in & out
which swing shall you swing?
I'll get yours to go
& then push myself off to listen to you sing
 
You said
"I like to do this"
Leaning back canvas was the sky
I had to catch up you were up so high
No need to find time for times like this
around you I'm witness to an angelic bird fly
 
Is this how it is? Forever just like this?
Trying to catch up
Tag now you're it
Watch you clear sweat away
had me thinking you were turning right
& then got that call we most dread
