'My notebook is missing.'
'I'm sorry, I must have taken the wrong one'
'Where is it?'
' It's at Nicholas' house.  Family is clearing out the house and are going to sell the house.'
She hangs up the phone and goes across town to the house.
The main character is cleaning out a friend of a friend's house that had passed away.  He was told to throw it all away.  When he is going through the stuff he finds a daily log notebook.  He starts to read from one of the pages and it reminds him of his life.  He flips it to the first page and it talks about when he was born.
'Who is this friend of yours?'
' I found a handwritten notebook and it describes my entire life.'
His friend doesn't believe him.  'What is on the last page, your funeral?'
He opens it up and it talks about when his friend is asking him to clean out a house.
The doorbell rings.
'Someone is here.  I'll call you back.'
He puts the notebook in his backpack.
She says she is here to help clean the house.  She tells him he can go home.  She'll finish up and do all the work.
He picks up his backpack and leaves.
She goes through the entire house and cannot find the notebook.
She has a flashback of when he picked up his backpack.
'He has my notebook.'
'Your grandmother started this book.  When she passed away, she gave it to me.'
